Kokedama Class at Casual Animal (5/18 Noon til 2)
Saturday May 18th 12-2pm
Roots KC is leading a Kokedama class in our taproom!
Immerse yourself in the ancient Japanese art of Kokedama while honoring the local environment with foraged Kansas City moss.
In this hands-on class, you'll learn the traditional techniques of creating stunning moss ball planters that are not only beautiful but sustainable.
Under the guidance of our experienced instructor, Allyse, you'll discover the secrets of constructing these botanical masterpieces using minimal materials and maximum creativity.
From selecting the perfect plants to mastering the art of moss wrapping, each step will be carefully demonstrated and explained, ensuring that you leave with the skills to continue your Kokedama journey at home. Please note that Kokedama plants will last 2-3 years with proper care before the need to repot them.
What sets this class apart is our commitment to sustainability. Instead of using commercially sourced moss, we use responsibly foraged moss, connecting with the local ecosystem and reducing our environmental footprint.
Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a complete novice, this class offers something for everyone. Join us as we blend Japanese tradition with local conservation efforts to create living works of art that will brighten any space.
Let your creativity flourish and your connection to nature deepen in this unique and eco-friendly workshop.
