Art Bar - RANT! OR RAVE?

  • Casual Animal Brewing 1725 McGee Street Kansas City, MO, 64108 United States (map)

Join us as we kick off the official Art Bar series at Casual Animal! Local artist instructors lead attendees through creative mediums allowing for skill development, but also free expression by the individual.

Consider Art Bar a pop-in craft night or artist tutorial experience.

Guests may stay the whole 4-hours, or muse for a bit before leaving with their creations after only a few minutes. The point is to offer a welcoming space for people looking to escape through creativity, the development of new skills, and finding community. Each class or project may incur a fee to ensure the artist instructors are reimbursed for materials and their expertise and time.

SEPTEMBER 16 - RANT! OR RAVE?

Mini-zines workshop. Instructor: Adriana Paez

RANT! OR RAVE? In this session, learn how to make an 8-pg mini zine from a single piece of paper using a few common techniques (collage, lettering, & sketching/doodling) with visual & verbal instructions to guide you along the way.

We'll get warmed up with a quick & dirty history of zines & how to make one, and a funny exercise that proves anyone can draw. Then it's time to decide whether you want to RANT or RAVE about something or (gasp!) someone, and unleash your creative fury!

You decide when you're done, so it might take 30 mins or you could post up for a couple hours, just depends how fast or slow you wanna go. Either way, you'll leave with a few fun mementos, the satisfaction of having done something that's good for your health, & a new skill you can practice anywhere you can find a piece of paper and something to make marks with.

COST PER PERSON $15

All class costs are added to the participant’s bar tab (no tax) and paid out in full to the artist instructor. Costs cover materials and instruction provided by the artist.
